As a child I read the whole series of the "and Me" collection. I was always an avid sports fan so being able to get taken back in time to cool historical sporting events really appealed to me. My favorite book of the series was Babe and Me. I really liked how to author described 1932 so vividly that I could really see myself there. I also like how they gave background information on Babe Ruth that did not directly affect the story but gave a better idea of how Babe ended up playing baseball in 1932. There were many historical facts that I learned about New York in the early '30's as well as baseball. Though this book is a chapter book, it really keeps you reading and does not seem nearly as long as 176 pages. ( )

Little Kid Reaction: This is a book I recommend for any young baseball fan. Babe Ruth was probably the greatest legend of the National Pastime ever, his shadow and spirit living on in every field and bat today. This book takes into account one of the biggest legends associated with the baseball great and presents it in an easygoing writing as well as giving a humanistic voice to the man who made baseball the national pastime.
