Quick impression: a nice collection of stories, spells, recipes from pagans for pagans. In a way, think of this like one of those Chicken Soup books only less sappy and probably more practical (especially if you are a pagan). A nice read but some parts are getting a bit dated.

Compilation of short essays, recipes, spells, reflections and informational blurbs from various Pagan elders and leaders about a variety of topics. Interesting to read the wide variety of experiences and lifestyles and beliefs encompassed in these pages! Just as with a symposium with different speakers, some of these blurbs and short essays were more interesting and compelling than others, but overall it was a good, diverse collection. I took a few notes from some and even re-read a few, and others skimmed over less attentively, and will be letting the book pass to someone else rather than keeping it as a reference—it’s really too scattered to use for that purpose. Nice little collection of stories and such from various pagan sources. This is a feel good book to be compared to the "Chicken Soup" series. Not alot of information, but it is a nice leisurely read that doesn't have to be read straight through the entire text. If you're feeling a bit down, you can pick it up and choose a story to uplift you. ( )
