Fortunately, most of it was history. ( ) Story of Mayflower descendents 'till present - Bigelows and Hilyards. Set in Brewster. Excellent, the story of Lands, old family names, etc. Originally brought to America's shores by the Mayflower, two families unearth their family skeletons--which have lain buried in Cape history for more than 200 years. Cape Cod is a Michener-esque multigenerational saga of two Pilgrim families wrestling over land on Cape Cod. Martin alleviates the unpleasantness of the tale (the appalling mortality rate of the early colony, the Indian wars, British prisoner ships, tarring and feathering, slaving, nativism, etc.), with the eventual entwining of the two feuding families and the mystery of the location of the captain's log of the Mayflower. It's an absorbing read. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
