Rachel Walker and Kirsty Tate wanted to make gingerbread men for Rachel’s Grandmother who was visiting. But no matter where they looked, they could not find eggs, flours, and the cookie cutter. They were missing the Fun Day Flag for Friday and “fun” was nowhere to be found. Gran gets home and the girls found out that she has the Fun Day Flag and was using it as a scarf! All they need to do is wait for Felicity, the Friday Fairy and return the flag but the goblins are also after the flag. Can the girls make sure Gran stays safe and return the flag to Felicity?

This is an easy chapter book that readers will rave about. It takes the readers into a fantasy world where two friends become friends with fairies and help them save the world. The chapters are not very long and each chapter has a chapter title that tells the reader about what is going to happen in the chapter, making it a reminder if the readers are picking it up from the middle. The illustrations are not very detailed and simply drawn with a pen, but they do help with visualizing the story and what fairies and goblins look like.

Although this is part of a series, readers will not need to read them in order to understand the plot of each book. A great book for chapter book starters and fairy lovers! ( )
