Krimi, Großbritannien Considering his vast output, it is odd how few of Wallace's characters figures in series, but J.G. Reeder, an elderly-looking bank detective who encourages criminals to underestimate him, is one, and I am glad of it, because (so fr as I recall) it was a J.G. Reeder story in an anthology that introduced me to Wallace's work --though I had long known his name as a writer of "thrillers." The Reeder stores are not "thrillers' and Reeder is not the young dashing hero, but he is an agreeable detective. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

J G Reeder is a shabby little man with red hair and weak eyes. However, his extraordinary mind is rapier sharp. Here are three thrilling episodes torn from his casebook: Red Aces about a man who gambles high and lives in fear; Kennedy the Con Man, reveals the impeccable mask stripped from a fiend, and finally The Case of Jo Attymer, a thoroughly intriguing mystery involving murder on London's Thames.
