Betsy decides she needs to get away and goes to an isolated resort to attend a stitch-in with Jill. I love learning all these aspects of needle work that I didn't know about. Like her last book, the mystery is slow to reveal itself, but I don't care. I enjoy just spending time with these characters. I'll be honest, when I started reading this one I thought to myself,"haven't I read this one before?" Turns out, it's similar to Mary Dahiem's [b: Snow Place to Die|1225136|Snow Place to Die (Bed-and-Breakfast, #13)|Mary Daheim|https://d2arxad8u2l0g7.cloudfront.net/books/1388985005s/1225136.jpg|1213647] in that the setting is similar, a murder occurs and solving it ensues... ;] This was a fun one with lots of talk of needle crafting- so, if you do any of the needle arts, you will enjoy it, if you don't- you might like it for the mystery alone. There were plenty of suspects and I really like the way Monica weaves the red herrings into the story line- they DON'T stand out. Which makes the mystery all the more fun. This is the first book I've read by this author. I enjoyed the characters, but not being a needleworker I was not into the background of the story. I did enjoy the basic plot of the person who was/wasn't there and the puzzle of solving it all. I do plan to read other books she has written, to get a better taste of her style. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

In this one, Betsy goes Up North to attend a stitch-in with her friend Officer Jill. Betsy stumbles upon a body and though she doesn't want it to be, it just might be murder. This takes place at Naniboujou lodge, which is a place that I have been, so it was fun to imagine the action happening in this setting. I really appreciate how accurate Ferris is with her settings!!
