It's a family affair as Hardyment & her four young daughters head out on a 4,000-mile road trip in search of the landscapes that inspired their favorite fairy tales. Not particularly good The author takes her four daughters with first a friend and her baby, and later her husband; around Europe to see places where children's authors lived as well as certain stories took place. They also threw in a few popular tourist locations. Her description was honest and fresh, even though it was back in 1985. It was kind of strange to read of currencies that have now been replaced with Euros as well as going behind the Iron Curtain in Germany. Some of the expositions on certain literature got a bit long if I wasn't familiar with the pieces, but other than that, I enjoyed it very much. A campervan called Bertha, 2 parents & 4 children, travelling for 8 weeks or so in Europe, visiting sites of Andersons Fairy tales, Heidi's Alp, Pinochio's Itlay etc. A joyful & honest personal tale with interesting info, 'Our journey was not dependent on the places we found, but on how we chose to see them.' nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
