I have listened to many (i think 5 total) audio recordings of the Bible. Of all those i've listened to, this one stands head and shoulders above the others. It's narrated by African Americans of note: clergy, actors, singers, etc. Samuel L. Jackson narrates the voice of God. Levar Burton is the Apostle John. LL Cool J is Samson. The rest of the Bible uses equally capable men and women throught. The Bible version being read is the TNIV and the entire Bible is filled with dramatic and appropriate background sounds. I started listening in January, intending for this to be part of my daily practice throughout the year, but i ended up finishing it in early August because it often was too compelling to put it down. I recommend this for anyone interested in listening to the Bible in a way that will feel alive and powerful and useful. This is sold in two parts, as the Old Testament and as the New Testament. ( )

Ummm... well I didn’t read the whole bible but I read a book from the bible. I read the book of proverbs which is the writings and diaries of king salmon. It’s a very good book if you’re looking for wisdom and advice. It talks about everything from immoral women to gaudiness and war. I recommend you read this if you’re someone who wants good knowledge. ( )
