Fiction. Western. Thriller. Historical Fiction. Milo Talon knew the territory and the good men from the bad. He had ridden the Outlaw Trail and could find out things others couldnâ??t. That was why a rich man named Jefferson Henry hired Milo to hunt down a missing girl. But from the moment Milo began his search, he knew something wasnâ??t right. Three people had already died, an innocent woman was on the run, and a once sleepy town was getting crowded with hired guns. Suddenly, Milo Talon realized that there were still things he had to learnâ??about the woman he was trying to find, the man who had hired him, and the murderer who wanted him dead. But most of all, Milo had a few things to learn about himself. And he would have to work fast, because one mistake could cost him… (altro)

I grade L’Amour titles against themselves due to the high volume that he produced. This book was grouped with Sacket titles for a while as he is one on his mother’s side (see The Dark Trail). A good story and a likable protagonist. ( )

The title protagonist finds himself in a missing person mystery, recruited to help locate the heiress to her grandfather's fortune, all the while other shadowy characters try to dissuade Milo in his quest. Good entry in the Talon/Sackett series of books though not as entertaining as The Man From the Broken Hills. ( )

Milo is hired to find a man's long lost grand-daughter. But the more he looks into the matter, the more tangled it becomes. The missing girl's identity keeps changing, and somebody forgot to mention the possibility of hidden gold. When Milo does find her, she turns out to be something more than anyone expects. The plot is a bit convoluted, but the characters are interesting and well-written. ( )

He had ridden the Outlaw Trail and could find out things others couldn't, and that's why a rich man named Jefferson Henry hired Milo to hunt down a missing girl. But from the moment Milo began his search he knew something wasn't right. Three people had already died, an innocent woman was on the run, and a once sleepy town was getting crowded with killers and hired guns. Suddenly Milo Talon realized that there were still things he had to learn--to beat out a breed who kept secrets, told lies, and forced an honest man to learn the truth behind the barrel of a gun. ( )
