This book brings up an important topic that doesn't seem to be addressed enough. Although claiming to be true, it is written as if it is fiction. Despite this, the emotional impact of what Katie goes through really hits a reader hard. Seeing how life is unstable and worry follows Katie is hard. It also makes a reader wonder about those in worse foster homes and how many are "slipping through the cracks" considering how many kids and teens are in the system.
I feel this is an important book for everyone to read, no matter their age. Hopefully, it will motivate those who are able to do something to help to reach out and attempt to make a difference. ( )
