I got it as the story sounded interesting and I do like adventure type stories. This, however, was disappointing. I believe it is in the YA category, written for juveniles or perhaps by a juvenile. The characters were weakly drawn and the pacing was off. It did remind me briefly of the book 'Fade' by Robert Cormier. That was altogether a better tale and better written. I will try to avoid the YA stories in the future. Not recommended for seasoned adult readers. ( ) The plot definitely thickens in this segment of the series and gets more intense as well as scientific. Some new interesting characters and love begins to blossom. I'm still dreaming about being able to become invisible myself but since I cannot ripple, I must indulge into this book and indulge I did. Perhaps when I read the 3rd book..... Questa recensione è stata scritta per gli Omaggi dei Membri di LibraryThing . This is the second book of a series. The book is about a teenage girl who can "ripple" to become invisible. This portion of the story picks up right after the first part leaves off. The author keeps the story interesting and leaves a good opening for the next volume. It is an easy read and I think I will recommend this series to a few young readers to enjoy. Cidney Gifted me this for my Kindle after reviewing and just letting her know that I liked the Rippler at her website. Chameleon is a great second book if I do say so, while sometimes we find that the first book is always the best, that is not the case here. There was plenty of adventure and danger around every corner and across continents. Sam, Will and Mickie are still trying to figure out what they are going to do to stop Helga, Hans and anyone else who might be after them. We finally get to meet Sir. Walter and found out all he knows, which is a lot and not just about Helmann. Even in France, life's are in danger, people are saved and people die. Now is the time that truth is much better than keeping secrets. If you have read the first book, I have a feeling you have already started or will be starting this book very soon. This is a series that once you start you must finish to know the end. I We are able to jump right into this second book without missing a beat. All our favorite characters are here and we meet plenty of knew ones. We find that even among all of this evil following them around they can still find humanity in some and even in unexpected places. Towards the end of this book the danger of it all has set in and everyone involved realizes it is best to split up and not everyone returns to back to California.
