Elsa Morante était née à Rome le 18 août 1912, où elle meurt le 25 novembre 1985. Au mois de mai 1986, selon ses vœux et en toute illégalité, on déroba ses cendres au cimetière Verano de Rome, et on les sema dans la mer, autour de l'île de Procida, l'île d' Arturo. (j-N. S.)
