I love the reboot of Spider-man in this series; of course it isn't a complete reboot, just one major change with some with several corollaries attached to it. This series feels fresh and it is a joy to read - new villains, new supporting cast and friends, and the constant "Parker Luck", which makes Peter Parker / Spider-man so identifiable. ( ) It's definitely a different way to take Spidey. I can't help but wonder things like who Jackpot is, if things are going to stay this way, and what else is going to happen! It definitely has me wanting to keep reading. My only regret is that they took to publishing the comic so often, I couldn't keep up! I wasn't sure where I had left off in my comic books and I didn't feel like digging them out to find out. Also it'd been long enough that I figured a refresh wouldn't be a bad thing. I do have these in comic book form, but it was good to reread them. I've been meaning to get into reading Spider-Man, and BND seemed to be a good jump on point since everything is "new." The story is okay; nothing breath-taking by any means, but it's not horrible, either. It's unfortunate that Marvel doesn't seem to allow its characters to grow up, or, if they do, they retcon them back into being twenty years old. The first collection of Spider-Man stories after Marvel's big re-set, and it actually works, mostly. Peter is a struggling photo-journalist who has recently broken up with actress Mary-Jane Watson, Harry Osborn is a coffee-shop owner who doesn't remember his time as the Green Goblin,Jonah Jameson has a heart attack and loses the Daily Bugle, and there's a new female red-headed super-hero in town who Spidey really suspects is Mary-Jane (but we now know otherwise). Not as intense as the prior Spider-Man storyline was, but refreshing and a promising start. Well, this needed to be done, and the revamped status quo is pleasantly bland and removes some of the bad taste left in my mouth by issue 1 of "Marvel Zombies Returns" (I have GOT to stop looking at those). But it's nothing that exciting, and those villains--"Freak"? "Menace"? "Overdrive", who can "pimp any ride"?--are either satire or deeply embarrassing; I wish I knew which. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

Spidey must contend with the antics of Overdrive, the nihilistic villainy of Mister Negative and the ominous threat of the high-flying Menace. And just who is the stunning, red-haired Jackpot? Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
