Magic School Bus books present factual and scientific information to young readers in an exciting format! This is a great book to read to students or for students to read to themselves to learn about food chains and the processes that occur. ( ) Arnold and Keesha forgot their two beach items and a report about how they connect. In order to help them, the class goes on a field trip to the ocean to understand connections in the food chain. They have to watch out or they will be eaten. This book is great introduction to the food chain. This book demonstrates a basic food chain in a thrilling ride with the characters. The students will understand that the food chain starts with the sun, then a plant, a herbivore, and lastly a carnivore. This book shows great examples of this. Reading Level: Primary Genre: Hybrid (Fantasy, and Nonfiction - Informational) This book is a great way to introduce the food chain at the beginning of the lesson. Its about a field trip the class takes to the beach; it becomes a underwater lesson because they get eaten by a tuna fish. This allows them to see what comes in and out, and learn about the food chain; one animal is going to eat another and so forth. The Magic School Bus books and shows were very popular when I was younger, so this was exciting for me to read. In "The Magic School Bus Gets Eaten," Ms. Frizzle's class is going on a field trip to the beach. The students were assigned partners and asked to bring beach items that go together. When two students forget about the assignment and don't realize how the items they have go together, the adventure begins. The bus dives into the ocean and eventually becomes fish food. The stidents are able to see how the food chain in the ocean works. This book gave me lots of ideas on how to teach on the "circle of life" and to explain where some of our food comes from. Once again it was a very fun book to read. Extensions for this book could include a field trip to an aquarium to learn about different ocean life and how the food chain goes. You could also have the students make a pyramid showing them at the top of the pyramid and incorporating foods that they eat as the pyramid goes down. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
