There's some exposition, Brenda and Traci's good friend Dina is off in a hospital "somewhere" and they're all supposed to move on. Brenda disagrees. There's some lip-service to Brenda's trauma, but she volunteered to do a murder movie with her friends so I can't blame her friends for thinking she should be OK now. We're also told Angela is fat. Remember this, because otherwise you might think she's human. Things get exta-awkward when Dina herself walks into the kitchen and is upset that Brenda and Tracy aren't welcoming her with open arms, exposing vital organs to the knife she picks up off the floor. She leaves in distress.
Oops, and I'm forgetting that Brenda's cousin Halley is still living with them and has successfully stolen Brenda's boyfriend Ted from her on a permanent basis. Their vow of cousinly friendship and affection didn't last long. Does Halley need to be taught another lesson? Oh, and there are threats and stuff and a cliffhanger ending to every chapter.
If you remember anything about the first 'Halloween Night' you are realizing that this is exactly the same story with even less sense-making. The character of Angela, chubby though she is, makes up for it with her Halloween-obsessed parents. There is also the matter of that ending. It is so bonkers and raises so many questions. Questions we will never have answers to. Almost profound.
