I may be a little bias though. This story takes place and has a lot of hints to my hometown of Jacksonville Beach. While the drama isn't as ramped up as some other books with the same theme it has just the perfect balance and leaves you laughing. ( ) Reviewed by Jaglvr for TeensReadToo.com PRAMA is a fun book that chronicles the lives of a handful of high school students on the day and night of their Senior Prom. The story starts out with a list of "Who's Who" like yearbook entries. It was a brilliant way to start the story to give the reader an idea of who would be encountered during the course of the book. We first meet Molly Walker, the head of the Prom Committee. Molly is a planner and wants everything to be perfect. She's not the most popular, by far, but she was determined not to have a cheesy Prom. She figured the only way that would happen was if she was in charge of planning it. The only thing Molly didn't plan on was that her boyfriend would break up with her within days of the big dance. Allison is her best friend, and is a nice contrast to Molly's uptight personality. Allison is stuck going to the Prom with Warren, a fellow band member. The person she would rather be going with is her best male friend, Peter. She's secretly in love with him. She missed her opportunity to ask him to the Prom, so now Peter is going with someone else. Victoria Sligh is the token "It Girl" at their high school. She is an overachiever who works out an ambitious "to-do" list prior to each school year. Her goal senior year is to achieve the "Grand Slam" -- senior class president (done), Homecoming Queen (done), captain of the cheerleading squad (done), and Prom Queen (in the bag). She's not very nice, and on the day of Prom, she's devastated when her boyfriend, Matt, the school jock, gets a black eye in the baseball game's winning play. These are just three of the quirky characters that the reader gets to know and follow over the course of PRAMA. There are many other endearing characters to fall in love with, as well. You'll just have to pick up the book to meet them! Jamie Ponti writes a thoroughly fun and enjoyable story about Prom. For all those that have been or will be going, this is an inside look at the chaos that ensues on what is supposed to be the "Best Night of Your Life." nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
