Attualmente non vi sono conversazioni su questo libro. enjoyed but didn't like the touch of supernatural in the ending ( ) The 5th book in the “Company of Rogues” series – Dangerous Joy – begins with Miles Cavanaugh returning to his Irish estate where he is heir to the Earl of Kilgoran. He finds out that his step-uncle has died leaving him – not – his step-father guardian of Felicity Monahan for 6 weeks until she turns 21. Felicity is known as a wild and willful heiress that Miles has to “guard” for 6 weeks until she reaches her majority. He only has to guard her for 6 weeks…. how hard can that be?? While on his way to meet her, he is kidnapped and tied up. The local woman who releases him offers him her body for his silence. He almost accepts until he decides that the woman is Felicity. At this point he realizes that it will be a long 6 weeks! Felicity has decided for some, as yet, unknown reason, that she must marry Rupert Dunsmore – a man she clearly despises. Miles has to actually take her prisoner to prevent this from happening. This book is set in Mystical Ireland. And it definitely is ~Mystical Ireland~. Barely a page goes by without the narration describing a character's brogue, dialogue featuring Gaelic phrases like "cailin" or "a muirnin", or someone comparing an event or person to an ancient Irish legend. Also there are lots of magical cat guardians (is that a Mystical Irish thing? If so, it's a cliche I was previously unfamiliar with. Actually I think Beverly was just going through a phase). Cats that help the characters resist temptation, cats that give advice, cats that defeat the villain. Even cats that come back to life. I did not like this book and it felt like it just drags without something big happening. . Too much melodrama, illogical behavior, and a kind of silly conflict made this one of the weakest books I've read. Also the cat thing is a tad too much !!! My rating is based on reading this six years ago as part of the series and it was a good contribution to the rogues with an interesting plot and plenty of action. Rereading today I skimmed some and mostly remember the coach scene. Miles becomes guardian to heiress Felicity who has a mind of her own. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
