First, the book’s style contained a simple language beneficial for children. For example, when describing another character in the story, “Lampwick was not a good boy. He told stories that were not true. He even stole things.” I liked that the details were non-complex and are easy to be understood when this story is being read to a child. Next, I loved the multiple messages and morals that this story encompasses. Although this is obviously a fantasy story and noses do not grow when lies are told, the message being demonstrated to readers is that lying results in consequences. Also, Pinocchio’s nose shrunk when he told the truth. This analogy demonstrates that good comes from being honest. Another beneficial message revealed for readers was that strangers cannot always be trusted. Pinocchio was tricked multiple times by trusting those he did not know. This can validate to readers that not every one you come across is trustworthy. Finally, I enjoyed the illustrations that went along with the text of this story. By showing readers how Pinocchio’s nose literally grows each time he tells a lie, the readers can understand the magnitude of being dishonest, although again, it is unrealistic. ( ) Geppetto carves a wooden puppet named Pinocchio. Geppetto wishes he had a real boy and then Pinocchio is brought to life by a fairy, who tells him he can stay a real boy if he proves himself. He has to do so by being “brave, truthful, and unselfish.” Pinocchio’s adventures and troubles teach him life lessons. The illustrations and story line of this particular version of the story go hand-in-hand with the movie. I would use this with younger children because they may know the story line and can relate to some of the actions and consequences that happen to Pinocchio. This story was about a puppet that one night came to life. The puppet was named Pinocchio. This old man named Geppetto wanted Pinocchio to go buy some food but instead Pinocchio decided to buy some candy. Everytime Pinocchio lied his nose got longer. At the end of the story Geppetto asked Pinocchio was his nose long. Once Pinocchio told Geppetto the truth Pinocchio's nose began to get smaller. This story teaches children to always tell the truth. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
