This book was included in the BCPS curriculum for kindergarten as a 'read-aloud.' This story is very engaging, as it challenges the students to compare how the events in this story compare to real life. Could the mole actually bring down the moon? Is that possible? Of course not! As mole's friends helped him attempt to bring down the moon too, they finally realized that they would not be able to bring it down. One of the biggest takeaways of this story is that some things are not as near as they seem- just like the big, bright moon. One night a mole burrowed out of the ground and saw the moon. Since he thought it was beautiful he wanted it, and tried to take it down. He was determined to have the moon even though the rabbit, hedgehog, and squirrel said it was too far to reach. After climbing up a tree to reach it, he fell down, and noticed the moon reflected in a puddle. He thought the moon fell with him, and then broke after he touched it; but it was just the clouds covering the moon in the sky. Afterwards, the other animals showed him the moon was still in the sky, and he too said it was far away. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
