The story of the Oregon Trail journey that went along with it irritated my 9YO and 11YO girls, so we skipped those sections. My girls also took exception to the authors' overuse of the words awesome. Sentences like "Wasn't it awesome to see our brave explorer believe God's promises and have it reckoned to him as righteousness?" were included practically daily. [The lessons are broken up daily.] Other adjectives would have been better because the redundancy lost my readers. This is the second book in this series we've done, and we had the same problems with the first one. My bottom line: the Bible Study portions are excellent, everything else is ridiculous. If we do any more inductive study from Kay Arthur, we'll be doing adult studies and not the kid version. ( ) nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

This exciting addition to Kay Arthur and Janna Arndt's Discover 4 Yourself® Inductive Bible Studies for Kids series takes readers and characters Max, Molly, and Sam along the rugged Oregon Trail. With God's trail map, the Bible, they set out on a wagon train to discover the lessons Abraham learned when he left his home and moved to an unknown land because God told him to. As they explore the new territory they face the excitement, fears, and blessings of walking by faith. Perfect for Sunday school classes, Bible studies, and independent study, Abraham--God's Brave Explorer teaches young kids all about listening to God and trusting His guidance even when the path gets bumpy.
