At first, I was kind of hoping for a science fiction novel as great as Little Brother. But that's asking for a lot. It's not really fair to compare. Tomorrow Code was really interesting science fiction that takes place in current times or the very near future in New Zealand. I was especially impressed with the three main characters. With such a complicated and cool plot, it would have been easy to put less emphasize on well-developed characters - but these characters were very real people, and I'm fascinated by the ideas that they struggled with in this book. ( )

This book was ok, the beginning drove me batty though. "in the first place," "fact one," "and for another fact", on and on to the second and third facts... But then it got better or I just stopped reading every word. Not sure.

The alien being fought is an antibody for the earth. The disease it is fighting is humans. This is a thought I had had long before that humans are a cancer on the earth, growing and destroying as they expand. More sci fi and mystery than time travel, though there is a time travel element. ( )
