English summary: New Information on one of the most extraordinary people of Egyptian history: 3,500 years ago, a woman in Ancient Egypt managed to ascend to the throne and successfully reigned the country for more than 20 years: Hatshepsut. She gave the country new impulses in art and architecture - every year, thousands of visitors admire her terraced temple at Deir el-Bahari. She also heavily influenced the development of religion. The processions she introduced enabled the populace, for the first time, to take part in the great festivals dedicated to the gods, experiencing the deities first-hand. In spite of that, 20 years after her death, people began hacking out her names and reliefs on monuments, destroying her statues and erasing her memory. Only in modern times, she was rediscovered. Since then, we still have many questions: Why did she want to become king? What was the nature of her relationship with the actual designated heir to the throne, Thutmosis III? What were the reasons for her damnatio memoriae? In the light of current research, the author paints a differentiated and utterly human picture of this fascinating woman.
