What do ladybugs usually eat? Mainly they feed on other insects that are harmful to farmers crops. In fact, some farmers have put ladybugs in their fields to protect their fruits and vegetables from other insects. These are just some of the surprising facts children will discover as they explore the fascinating world of these helpful creatures. Large, eye-popping photos and clear, grade-appropriate text will engage emergent readers as they learn about the natural habitat, physical characteristics, diet, and behavior of this unique invertebrate. Helpful Ladybugs is part of Bearport s No Backbone The World of Invertebrates series." Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |

I read this book to a six-year old girl for my service learning project and she really enjoyed it.
This book could easily be incorporated into a lesson about ladybugs, or bugs in general. After studying this book and reading it aloud, the students could prove they listened by reciting a fact before they line up, etc. Or, I could incorporate art and writing into the lesson, also, by having each student paint a picture of a ladybug and writing a fact in cursive under the picture. We could then make it more fun by hanging the pictures up on the wall to show off to parents, etc.
