Perfect Amy Candler tries hard to blend in with everyone else, but then she comes face to face with someone who looks just like her--someone who is another Amy. The two girls look identical, and Amy expects them to have identical personalities. But she's in for a big surprise. The other Amy is determined to stand out from the crowd. She's determined to grab the spotlight, even if it means squashing the competition. She's determined not to have a look-alike, and she wants Amy out of the way. She's...well...evil! This is the first book but recycled. There's brief mentions of a child performer who's another Amy, but she gets little page time. The plot holes are massive and I had to suspend my disbelief. I was a semi-professional child performer and we're not all assholes, Marilyn Kaye. The characters are one-dimensional and flat. Amy the actress' reactions are -not- realistic for a twelve-year-old and she's not written as one, either. I was kind of creeped out. And a slasher film being set in a middle school? It's all coded as high school, where the genre did originate! A slasher film in a middle school just would not work, and this is the nineties I'm talking about. It's an indie film concept, not a big studio thing. And Tasha getting to be a junior reporter in a big newspaper? Also more likely to be a high school thing. I'm not saying middle schoolers can't; I'm saying they would need a lot more practice, which Tasha is not shown as getting. Eric going on the date--whatevs, plot hole, not gonna do this, ugh. Does. Not. Happen, and they are in -middle school-. Again, this stuff happens in HIGH SCHOOL. Dammit, Marilyn Kaye. I want to write a short story to make myself feel better. The book overall...managed to be really boring too. I was surprised.

I really liked how each clone has different abilities, and was hugely relieved that gymnastics!Amy was such a bad actor. As a child, my reaction was lol. As an adult, it was teehee; heeehheeeheee. I thought briefly of ballet!Amy, stage name Annie. Good on her. So yeah, the differences between each were great and I was relieved. ( )

Amy continues to search for the other Amys when one shows up at her school. This one is an actress in desperate need of an attitude adjustment.

This little series is like potato chips. Just can't stop reading them. I really enjoy them. And they have some good lessons for kids. And we may be heading for lttle bit of romance in the next one. ( )

This book is really good, although not as good as the other books in the series. I've been looking for the Replica Series for years now. Yes, years. Apparently, bookstores don't have them here.

Although this book is good, its not as exciting and thrilling as the other books in the series. And the ending is such a cliffhanger, and the book really didn't answer many questions on Amy's identity.

But, its still quite good! I can't wait to read the rest of the series! ( )

The plot reminds me strongly of "Kyle Xy" but this one is a bit lame. The 'evil' of the other replica is over hyped on the cover and the story is underwhelming on the inside. ( )
