An interesting, if somewhat brief, look at the actors who appeared in Monty Python's Flying Circus, and their careers before and after. Somewhat out of date now I am afraid but there is a 'Pythonography' of all released material by the python team at the back which is of use. ( ) About as dull as a book about Monty Python could be. An intro, 6 biographies up to the early 90s, a bit more information added to the mid portions of the biographies to be the story of Monty Python's Flying Circus BBC show, followed by a rehash of the last portion of the 6 biographies, with photos somewhat randomly placed more where they fit not where referenced. Lots of pictures, not all that well captioned, and a couple of images I never wanted to see again. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
The world of Monty Python, its ear finely tuned to the absurd, was that rare beast: absolute originality. This tribute to the inspired collective genius of John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, and the late Graham Chapman, is based on personal reminiscences and exclusive interviews with each of them. It recounts, with many photos and illustrations from the archives, their pre-Python lives, their meeting, its impact, and its aftermath. A faithful and entertaining chronicle of the people and events who engendered a revolution in comedy. George Perry is an author, journalist, fellow Oxbridge graduate, and expert on all matters Python. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
