The book Flip, Float, Fly by JoAnn Early Macken is about how different types of seeds may travel around and then grow in different environments. It also talks about different ways seeds are held like fruit, seedpods, and flowers. I would read this book in a classroom lesson on seeds, and how plants grow. Plants can't grow without seeds so I would build this background knowledge before going into what happens to the seed once it is planted. Personally I liked this book. I think it was full of good information and had great illustrations to show what is happening to each seed, and even what different seeds look like! ( ) I love that this book has a nice rhythm to it and uses so many pleasing alliterations that just roll off the reader's tongue. "Carrying seeds, each side scoots along, SKITTER and skate!" The book also utilizes so many onomatopoeias which are a fun way to introduce vocabulary. I loved this book so much because it has plenty of aesthetic illustrations, helpful infographics, and the author uses literary devices in such a clever way. I would use this book alongside the book Plants that Feed me by Lizzy Rockwell during a fruit and vegetable unit. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
