This book is about going into first grade. Children can relate to this and would be a good book to read at the end of the year for Kindergarten and read the beginning of the year in first grade. ( )

First Grade, Here I Come is a great book to read to your classroom on the first day of school, if you teach the first grade or have a first grader. It talks about all the different things that happen in First grade that are different in Kindergarten. Being in first grade made Henry realize that he is a big boy now and not just a kindergartener anymore. He has more responsibilities, and more things that he has to do. He thinks everything is different, but he does not know how he should take it. Is it good or bad? You will have to read to find out. ( )

Charactarization: Henry is a flat and dynamic character because we dont know a whole lot about his life but he does change and develop throughout the book. At the begining of the book Henry is a little bit upset about his first day of 1st grade but after talking with his mother Henry realizes that he is going to like the first grade afterall.
Review: This is a good example of Fantasy because it makes a story about a mouse going to first grade for the first time seem normal and relatable to a child who is entering first grade for the first time. Henry tells his mom about his first day in his first grade classroom. At the begining of the book he is missing all that happened in Kindergarten but by the end of the book Henry is very excited about his new first grade classroom. ( )
