Leading theological ethicist Stanley Hauerwas shows how discussions of Christology and the authority of scripture involve questions about what kind of community the church must be to rightly tell the stories of God. This book is actually a series of essays centered around themes, thus the overall structure is somewhat disjointed compared to a book, which is designed around a central topic. That being said the essays were thought-provoking and challenging. This book however is probably not a great choice as a first read in theology. If you've already been exposed to academic theological works though, then you may find this work to be useful. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

"Recognized as a leading theological ethicist, Stanley Hauerwas applies his theory of the narrative formation of Christian character to the field of social ethics. He advances his ideas by showing why any consideration cannot be divorced from the kind of community the church is and should be. He also challenges the dominant assumption of contemporary Christian social ethics that there is a special relation between Christianity and some form of liberal democratic social system."--Publisher's description.
