Le fate sotto la città

I liked this one a little less than Tithe, but I really enjoyed how it was all tied back together so you know that this is the same world in the same era. I believe this book focused too heavily on the idea of Never while that should have just been a side note. As a character, Val didn't seem to have the addictive personality and her tendacy towards physical outrage also seemed a little odd, compared to how she acted and the choices she made. I guess it made for an interesting main character, though. I look forward to the next book, however, as I do enjoy Black's writing. ( )

Odd, I didn't care for Holly Black when I read her first book, but now I can't get enough. Go Holly! Great book, very dark. Fairies, mostly frightening ones, youth and grief, drug use, betrayals, and destructive behavior dealt with well. ( )

1.5 This wasn't a book for me. I found it had much potential, but was lacking way to much in plot. Most of the story was just the character doing deliveries for a the fae with a few mentions of deaths. The plot did not kick in until that last few chapters. Those last few chapters were great though, and saved this book from a 1 star rating. ( )
