"I am a reteller of folktales" begins this autobiography by children's book author Verna Aardema, written for the early-reader, chapter-book set. A brief 32-page book, illustrated with photographs and reproductions from the author's work, A Bookworm Who Hatched doesn't really have enough information to satisfy the adult reader. But it would work wonderfully, I believe, for its target audience. Young folklore enthusiasts who loved Why Mosquitoes Buzz in People's Ears, or Misoso: Once Upon a Time Tales from Africa can learn a little more about the author, and how her books are produced, here. Summary: this book outlines the life of Verna and how she became an author. Genre: Autobiography This is a story about the live of verna but is told by her which makes it an autobiography Media: photographs Point of view: 1st person, Verna is telling the story of her own life from her own point of view nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

Another reason I didn’t enjoy this book is because of the text. The author didn’t do a very good job at making me want to read it. I kept looking at what page number I was on because I wanted it to be over. Overall, I was very bored with this book.
The main idea of this book is that Verna Aardema allowed her inner bookworm to blossom. ( )
