In which true love triumphs with dollops of sentiment and worse, but Schmidt manages to contribute some comic relief. Typical Peters plot, with people breaking in and out of a guarded building, and a large cast of characters, almost none of whom are who they appear to be. Set in Egypt instead of Europe; there are a number of references to Amelia Peabody, who is an historical figure in the book's world. Unfortunately, there isn't a lot of the history or archaeology that make the Peabody novels rather interesting as well as entertaining. ( )
Oh i just love this series & Im so sad there is only 1 more book left in series! The whole series is 5 star & a must read! I cant find one thing that i dont like about it! It has just the right amount of romance, mystery, action, suspense, etc. etc. etc. ( )
I really like Vicki as a character. So different from Amelia Peabody. This is the first book I read of the series (I wish they put numbers on the covers!), but I enjoyed it enough to want to read the rest. ( )
