Aunt Lulu is the story of a woman who uses her 14 Alaskan Huskies to bring books to the gold miners. This story is very quirky and farfetched as are the illustrations. The author, Daniel Pinkwater, uses repetition in this story which can be very fun to read aloud. The only complaint I have about this story is that it is a bit wordy and may be too long for a read aloud in a classroom. Other than that, the illustrations are very fun to look at and keep you guessing on every page. ( ) In this fun book, we meet Aunt Lulu who is a librarian in Alaska. She would pick a large amount of books on a sled pulled by her fourteen huskies , and take them to the gold miners so that they could have something fun to read. This shows how great of a librarian Aunt Lulu is. She eventually moves to New Jersey with her huskies. In a fun ending, the audience can get a good laugh at the silly pictures. Great book. A typical Pinkwater picture book, which is to say, it's wonderful! Aunt Lulu is a librarian in Alaska who brings books to miners' diggings until she decides that she wants to go home to New Jersey, specifically, Parsippany. I used to live nearby in New Brunswick; and Mr. Pinkwater lived in Hoboken. Larry, a Pinkwater polar bear, lives in Bayonne. I love his surprises: Lulu likes the miners, but thinks they are boring. One of the stores in New Jersey is Ferret World. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
