School In the third Clementine book, Clementine finds out her third grade teacher may be leaving to go on an archaeological dig in Egypt - just when she has finally got the hang of third grade! The substitute teacher her class has for the week is not like her old teacher at all. When the class is asked to write letters on behalf of their teacher, Clementine tries to sabotage him so he will have to stay with them, like he promised. Once again, Clementine is completely relatable and the grown-ups in her life - parents, teachers, principal, friends' parents - are kind and involved. The running joke of Clementine's younger brother's name continues. * Re-read January 2020 I enjoyed reading this book, it reminded me of this kid that I went to elementary school who acted a lot like Clementine. Clementine is like many young children: curious and adventurous. I enjoyed her corky attitude. I found it funny that she stuck onto the whole beers and saloons thing that was taught to her by a previous teacher. Overall, this is a pretty good book for elementary students to read. "Clementine's Letter," is a book about a girl named Clementine that is just starting to get the hang of third grade, with the help of her teacher, Mr. D'Matz. He understands her really well, even her need to draw or play Beat the Clock when the day feels like it'll never end. However, Clementine and the rest of her class were up for a big surprise. The principal, Mrs. Rice, informed them that their teacher had been nominated for the Adventures for Teachers program to go to Egypt. This meant that if he won, he would be out for the entire year. Clementine was not happy about this at all. She thought that he would have stood up in front of Mrs.Rice and said, "Nope, Sorry, Mrs. Rice. I can't go away for the rest of the year because I promised to be here" and continue to be her teacher. However, she was wrong. She was so upset that she almost forgot that he wouldn't be there for the rest of the week. When she returned to school the next day, there was a substitute teacher in his place. From the start, Clementine and the substitute, Mrs.Nagel, have communication issues over rules. In return, Celmentine starts to really dread school. One of her class assignments was to write a letter to the judges explaining why her teacher should be chosen to go to Egypt. Clementine certainly did not want her teacher to win and did not want to be stuck with Mrs.Nagel for the rest of the year. She decided to quote something wacky that her friend Mitchell was saying. It was a horrible letter of recommendation and that's just what she wanted. However, Mr.D'Matz picked her paper for her to read in front the judges. Yikes! Suddenly, she had a change of heart and did not read the paper that she originally wrote. She decided to come up with something from the heart, and it was how she really felt about him. She kept going on and on about how much of a good teacher he was. Clementine has really grown a lot as a character by doing the right thing for her teacher. In the end, he didn't even win. Clementine got her teacher back and she made a really great decision by telling the truth about her teacher. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
