My youngest enjoyed tracing the line with his finger as it moves through different rooms of a house. It also has some search-and-find questions. This book was a favorite of my children. They loved to "follow the line" through each page of this book. It is very engaging and interactive. There are many different articles/objects on each page. Each page is a different room in the house, so this book lends itself to the concept of sorting and classifying as well. There are questions on some of the pages to further engage the reader(s). The book keeps the reader guessing as to what room is next, and what he/she will find there! My students liked this book more than I did. Basically the concept of the book is that you follow the line through different rooms of the house. The line is the focus point of the story. My students really liked following the line with their finger and tracing the toolbox and the refrigerator etc. I found the book hard to use as a read aloud. The students also really liked looking for the items in the pictures. I think this is a good book to have in your library for students to interact with, but I don't think it makes for the best read aloud. I like the idea of this book, but overall found it a bit disjointed and difficult to follow. It may be more interesting if I gave it more of my attention and really studied each page. It could definitely be good for younger readers who are developing their vocabulary or even for ELL's. The illustrations are pleasantly retro and bright. In this beautifully illustrated book the reader follows the line throughout the house to see things throughout. The line takes the reader on an adnventure through the house. It explores the attic and refrigerator amoing other things. It really gets the reader to think and become egaged with the book. Counting, colors, matching and shapes are all elements that the reader is exposed to. This is a great fun book to teach the basics too. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
