I knew this was going to be a bad read but I was still curious about it so I decided to check it out. I can now confirm that the book is in fact LAME. Superficial and poorly written, this book is simply a reflection of a horny, bored woman who didn't know what the F*** to do with her life so she decided to move to Argentina to learn "the tango". Nothing wrong with that except that she lived in Argentina for 4 years, during one of the toughest times of Argentinian history and she learned nothing. In 2002, she continues to be the same shallow and frivolous person that landed in Argentina in 1998, even after the country changed presidents 3 times and, of course, she can't remember any of the presidents' names because she didn't even bother to look them up. To give the author some credit, one can see that she did have a hard time in Argentina, it wasn't all sleeping around and dancing. She worked hard to learn "the tango" and she struggled working long hours as a street performer. But her suffering seems mostly the consequence of her entitlement, being constantly frustrated because she believes that she deserved better than the rest of the people there. So, sorry honey that you had a rough time in BA, I hope you're back to your Chanel purses and your sheltered life in NYC where you belong. Stay there, please, and stop writing BS about my country.
