I love this book, but it's one of those rare instances where I like the movie better (mostly because of the music, but I actually really love the changes/additions that were made.) ( )

Álbum sin texto en el que el ilustrador crea una aventura a modo de historieta, estructurada en viñetas, en las que alterna imágenes a toda página con otras pequeñas como si de un TBO se tratase.

Un niño construye, en el jardín de su casa, un muñeco de nieve. A la noche, cuando sus padres duermen, el pequeño baja al jardín y el muñeco cobra vida; el niño le muestra toda su casa y el muñeco siente predilección por los lugares fríos, en cambio se asusta ante la presencia del fuego. Después, el muñeco lleva volando al pequeño hasta una lejana ciudad. El amanecer anuncia que deben volver.

A la manaña siguiente, el niño va a la ventana: el sol ha derretido la nieve y el muñeco ha desaparecido.

Realidad y sueño se mezclan este álbum en el que las ilustraciones cuentan una historia de perdida y amistad.

great for k-5, good for imagination, theme of going home

The Snowman by Raymond Briggs is a wordless picture book. I liked this book because it allows readers to use their imagination. This book is all about a young boy and a snowman he built on a snowy day. Since it is a wordless book readers are able to put their own flavor to the story. There is no right or wrong answer. The illustrations enhance the story. the illustrations are well drawn which will keep a reader engaged during the story. This story is also very relatable for young readers. Readers can relate to building a snow man on a snowy day. This way readers are able to put themselves into the story. This story's main focus is friendship. The young boy makes a friend out of his snowman. I would highly recommend this book. ( )
