One broken agent, One conspiracy, One last chance for revenge…

Story:

Grace Flint used be the best undercover agent that her department had. If you needed a tough street walker she was there. If you needed a high class woman of intrigue to plant a bug on a wheeling and dealing international business man she was who you called in. All that came to end one night on a case that should have been by the book, except somebody changed the rules and Grace Flint was caught on the receiving end of a takedown gone terribly wrong.
She survives, but the attack shatters more than just her face. The doctors put her back together but everyone knows that she has lost that instinct that made her the best at what she did. Finally after being shuffled from assignment to assignment she is sent to the U.S. to be a consulting agent on a money laundering case being run by her new boss, Paul Cutter. In a bold move Cutter assigns Flint to go undercover in the upcoming takedown of the man leading the money laundering operation.

Here in the most unrelated of cases Grace will find a lead on the man who shattered her life. Here she will start a journey of revenge that will take her from the banking havens of the wealthy to one of the most dangerous countries in the world. Here is where she will leave behind family, friends, and associates to find out if she still has what it takes to bring the guilty to justice

-----------

This is one of the better thriller books that I have read in a long time. The action starts off a little slow but that doesn’t last long once Grace finds out that she has a chance to find the man that derailed her life. If I have any complaint it’s that sometimes the book bounces around a little too much and there is a certain side plot involving Harry Cohen and one of the main bad guys that seemed…. kinda stretched. I guess it was just used to illustrate the bag of worms that Grace opens when she starts to unravel the conspiracy. Other than that the plot moves fast and so do the pages. If you looking for a thriller that keeps you guessing and hero that doesn’t quite fit the mold, then pick this book up for a entertaining read. I would recommend this to anyone who likes mysteries, thrillers and action books that don’t rely on explosions to carry the story. M.a.c ( )

Flint starts with violence. The plot itself is a little complicated but the writing is superb. Grace Flint is the proverbial Nancy Drew only not as wholesome. Okay, she swears a lot and she has a plastic face. She is the literary answer to silver screen's Laura Croft. Dark and dangerous. Working as an undercover agent, Grace is exposed during a particularly dangerous sting operation and nearly beaten to death. That's how Flint begins. The rest of the book fills in the gaps of who Grace really is (tough, beautiful, haunted) and who she isn't (social, secure, stable). It follows her on her quest for revenge (because, of course, she survives the beating) as the men who framed her nip at her heels. There are many twists and turns to Flint and it gets a little complicated at times, but the writing and character development keep you on the edge of your seat. ( )

Flint revolves around undercover cop Grace Flint. She was involved in a sting that went very wrong and she was beaten so badly that she needed reconstructive surgery on her face. After her recovery, Grace make it her mission to find one of the men responsible for the death of a fellow officer and her beating. She is a brave and daring officer who discovers that she's not sure who she can trust. She figures out that there are corrupt organizations and isn't sure where to turn for help, so she ventures out alone.

I experienced this book via in audio format. I wanted to like this book. I didn't. I cannot fully explain what things I didn't like, but I found myself totally confused about all the people in this story. There were so many different characters but I couldn't keep them all straight. The other problem I had in following this was the way that the story jumped from the action that was taking place, and a viewpoint from the outside of others watching those actions and reviewing them after-the-fact. I found it very hard to follow. I was backing up the audio over and over again. I think that Eddy is probably a great author, so I won't say that I didn't like his work, just not this story and how it was laid out. ( )

Grace Flint has a device smaller than a packet of cigarettes that she can hide in your car, or on your boat or plane - even, if it suits her, in your briefcase - that will track your precise location for the next six months.
