I have been a fan of Stephen G. Michaud for a while, and I was not disappointed with this book. It was a subject that could have dragged and become tedious, the crimes were gruesome but they were related matter of fact not to titillate or make the book more sensational. He makes you see the compassion of the investigators involved, presents mistakes that were made without an accusing tone. You care about the victims, about their families while at the same time understand the great obstacles the cold case investigators were facing. At one point, you can almost feel their frustration. ( )

Interesting read on cold case investigations leading to murders committed by Robert Charles Browne in multiple states. While a few of the murders have been linked to Browne, others remain unresolved due to lack of due to the amount of time that had passed by and a lack of evidence. ( )

Sparse. Not quite what I was expecting. I guess perhaps because the story isn't finished yet. ( )
