This re-publication of Margaret Mahy's The Christmas Tree Tangle is well-timed for the festive season. It is the story of a kitten who is stuck in a Christmas with a parade of animals, from a cat to some pigs, volunteering to come to her rescue. Of course, they also become stuck. And who finally rescues them all? You will need to read the book to find out.
This book is vintage Margaret Mahy with its rollicking, rhyming tale full of daring-do and disaster. Although the text is original, Sarah Davis has provided new illustrations. These are full of life and movement and the various animals are bursting with personality. Children will be delighted with this tale of Christmas hijinks. ( )

This is a cute book that follows a progression. It's not very believable though. The illustrations are nothing special. It's cute if you want a rhyming Christmas book with animals. ( )
