I really like this character, yes the specifics about every tree in Hawaii was mentioned (another reader mentioned a dislike for it); however, it is a detail, and a really good mystery will have them. I find that it's those details that leave the mystery up to the reader to sort through. Which one is important, which one is just a toss away (or red herring)- Ms Hart is really good at them. She will give you something innocuous that will come back to bite you (or her main character) in the butt. This style of writing does remind me of Agatha Christie (another reviewer mentioned that as well) in the way that the mystery did leave me guessing all the way through to the 2nd to last chapter - most don't. Brava, you hooked me! ( ) "Henri O" received a piece of mail insinuating that her husbands death, years earlier was not an accident but murder. As she delves into the how and why she learns things she never knew and puts herself in the middle of a very deadly web of lies and deceit. I had never read this author, I seem to say that a lot any more but there are just so many good ones out there. I liked Carolyn Hart's style and I liked the way she built the crime and the surprise reveal. Up until the last pages I was still guessing and in the end I got it wrong. I love this type of book. One flaw if any would be the excessive use of metaphors, they were largely overused in my opinion. As the death of her past comes out to haunt her, Henrie-O sets out to find her husbands murderer. As she visits her Husbands friends, and uncovers many clues and truths, she finds herself submerged deeper in an ocean of lies than ever. Night-time prowls, spying, and secretive meetings make this book excitingly interesting. The book is filled with unpredictable confessions and coincedences, making this book a great murder mystery. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
