John & Beth Cunningham are called to the scene of a fatal accident at which a terrified cocker spaniel has been found. The victim was killed by a hit & run driver of a Land Rover, but further clues are scarce. Angus Todd is a close friend of the Cunninghams & protest his innocence when traces of blood are found on his Land Rover bumper.
