This was a really interesting book. It talked about war and how it affects animals, forests, villages, and people. It explained the effects of war, such as broken cities and contaminated water. The book discussed war in a sense that it was a person, destroying things even though it could see. I think this would be a good book for older primary students because the book does talk about death and war and some other dark concepts.

This book is about how war doesn't see the destruction it could cause to the more unsuspecting victims. For example it shows a donkey and a little boy thinking about dinner but he doesn't know something is going to fall down on him from the sky. This book was really sad to me.

Somber picture book uses Walker's poetry to explain why war is never a good idea. This is not for young children, but could spark thoughtful discussions with older children, teens, and adults. Dark illustrations match the feeling of the words in the poems.

This is a very powerful book. It highlights the consequences of war and its effects on people, environment and the planet. May not be suitable for very young readers. ( )
