This is an informational book about the respiratory system and how it works. It goes through the processes of inhaling oxygen, exhaling carbon dioxide and various other things like allergies, asthma and germs.

Science is my weakest subject area, and anything I can use to help me teach what I myself do not enjoy is great! The pictures are very vivid and clear and demonstrate the concepts of the book. It is a plus that the author chose to put a glossary in the back, as well as suggested reading material and internet sites the children may look into.

This would be a good book for which to find an experiment to do. The students could research some experiments we as a class could perform during science. I could also go more in depth with the germs part of the text and extend the students' knowledge about personal hygiene and health. ( )
