I'm giving this book five stars just for its title, which I love. What is "between the dreaming and the coming true"? Life. It's where we live our lives. This was Benson's first major work, and it details the story of how he became a writer and some of the hard times that transpired in his life to push him toward that point. While he has covered some of the same ground in his later works, this one still merits reading. In fact, it's a book that I would read again should time allow. There are few books that I would bother to read again so that alone speaks highly of it. ( )

A wonderful book that should be required reading for anyone who is serious about their Christian faith.

Benson takes the reader on a journey through depression and hospitalization as he wrestles with God's love for him and the nature and scope of real, vital prayer.

I have read and re-read this book and always keep it close to hand for those times when I stumble on my journey. ( )
