NO OF PAGES: 28 SUB CAT I: Children's Resources SUB CAT II: Feasts/Festivals SUB CAT III: DESCRIPTION: A young girl hears her father singing these words and knows it is time to get ready for Passover. Time to eat special food on special Passover dishes. Time to tell the Passover story and take part in the Seder. During the celebration of Passover, there are many things to see, taste, smell, hear, and feel. And as the girl follows her senses and asks questions about all she encounters, she discovers in her own heart what Passover really means.NOTES: Donated by Steve and Leah Browning. SUBTITLE:

This book tells the history of Passover and the traditions associated with it while telling the story of a young girl preparing for Passover. This story is great for a read aloud to elementary school students and allows them to see what some cultures may celebrate in the Spring. The book also uses Hebrew words traditionally used during Passover, and it conveniently puts these words in italics with a glossary in the back so students and teachers can refer back to it and know what each word means. The illustrations complement the text beautifully, making this a very appealing book.
