This collection of poems is focused on the topic of cats. Most of the poems used alot of rhyme and rhythm to keep the reading smooth. The imagery used was easy to visualize and could even been applied to my cats at home.
I found this book very amusing and easy to read.
I would use this book to tie into pets the children may have at home and maybe see if they could use the same kind of imagery to describe something funny that their pets do at home. ( )

Cat Poems is a poetry book about cats. It has poems on cats chasing birds, cats sleeping on bed, cats in your lap, cat in the alleys, cats everywhere. It has some poems on a person cat and how they look and act.

Personal Reaction:
I'm not much of a cat person but the poems were so nice and cuddly. I would probably like a cat after reading this book of poems.

Classroom Extensions:
1) Have a student choose a poem that describes there cat on show and tell.
2) Have students make up a poem about their cat or pet that they have a home.

I was not really interested in this book, because I do not care for any animals.
