In the previous book, Amy was kidnapped by Comancheros and abused. After her rescue, her only friend was Swift, a young man adopted by the Comanches. She's waited years for him to return to her, but when he finally shows up, he's a very different man in some ways.
This was an excellent sequel to Comanche Moon, as we get to see some of the characters from that previous book. Amy and Swift are an attractive couple but with a lot of trauma in their past lives. It's another good story from Ms. Anderson. ( )

Didn't like this one as well as the one before it. The American Indian element was not nearly so strong. I wasn't as fond of the heroine as I kind of kept wanting to slap her and tell her to get with it. Still not bad. ( )

Similar to her sister, the female protagonist becomes a mute due to a traumatic experience and can't stand being touched. I wanted this couple to get together in the last book, but alas, they were twelve. I do enjoy this couple, but Catherine Anderson has a bad habit of letting my attention drift with superfluous involvement of other characters nobody cares about. Stick to the script! ( )
