Walt Disney's Three Orphan Kittens is a story about three kittens on a farm. The farmer who owns them has his son take them into town because he cannot own them anymore. On the way into town, the kittens fall out of the buggy and into the snow. The kittens were lost in the snow until they found a house. Inside this house, they did many things such as play on a piano and a tablecloth, and discover many things. Finally, the kittens got chased around this house by a woman, and they ended up hiding inside a little girl's closet. The little girl finds them and keeps them forever. This book would be good to use if talking about cats or getting lost and being rescued.

This book touched on a lot of different ideas. It touches on the idea that not all people are good, that sometimes even the most lovable of creatures are cast out, and that sometimes we have to travel great distances and with great peril to find the place we belong (which isn't always where we started). It's a complex book that's well-written for the age it is designed for, and it probably appeals to a large age range. ( )
