It's no secret that I love urban fantasies. This book was no exception. I really liked the author's storytelling style and I liked the characters. I especially liked that there didn't seem to be a romance brewing between the lead characters. They were genuinely partners, fighting against the forces of evil. If you enjoy darker urban fantasies, then this one might be fore you. ( )

Intense book! Dark fantasy dealing with witches and the occult. Morris and Chastain are private investigators you'll enjoy following while they help someone with their paranormal problem.

I hope the library has the next book! ( )

Quincey Morris is an investigator of the occult. When he his hired to help a family that is suffering from a deadly curse, he enlists the help of his friend, white witch Libby Chastain. The investigation takes them to all corners across the country where they often find themselves battling dark forces. I found this book very entertaining. Most of the characters were interesting, although I felt the author developed Quincey the least. The chase to stop the evil doers was suspenseful, but the conclusion was a little bit of a let down. Overall, it was a quick enjoyable read that fans of supernatural investigators will enjoy. ( )

Paranormal investigator Quincey Morris along with white witch Libby Chastain are called into help a family who are plagued by a curse going back to the Salem Witch trials.

I found this book quite a quirky read with a likeable duo, who are like a paranormal Mulder and Scully. Both characters gelled together and I would read more of them in the future.

The story did seem to have a lot of characters and did think how was they all going to fit into the story, but as the book progresses its all becomes clear.

The story was ok and plodded along with I think every supernatural demon thrown in for good measure.

I would recommend this read to anybody who likes the tv series Superntural and The X files, and to anyone who likes a bit of the dark side or just something different. ( )

Liked this story of two detectives chasing a ritual murderer across the US and also a South African policeman joining an FBI agent to do the same, Quincey Morris and his partner, Elizabeth "Libby" Chastain have the advantage that they know that sometimes things go bump in the night and know how to combat them.

There's also a second story, and the primary story weaves through this, the second story is a story of centuries of revenge being carried out by descendants of one of the witches who died then, a family who are being cursed for no reasons of their own.

I didn't quite feel engaged by the characters and didn't care enough for them to hunt up sequels but didn't hate it. I'm curious actually about what happens next and would like to know more, I think the story would have engaged me more if there wasn't the South African policeman and FBI agent, but overall it kept me reading ( )
