This one has Jaz and her team joining forces with her brother and his elite group of special forces soldiers. They are in Terran and are there to take out a terrorist. The problem lies in the fact that her brother's group has a mole that is giving away all the secrets. So as well as the normal intrigue of searching out a terrorist we also have the issue of finding the mole. Like the others in the series a fast passed action thriller of sorts. Also lots of building on the core group of characters in the series. ( ) I enjoyed this one more than the previous two books in the series. Jaz is still a bad ass, I still think she's completely crazy but I like her. The story line in this one runs really smooth, and there is a lot of kick-ass in this one. Biting the Bullet, tries to make you guess what the Wizard is thinking. It makes you wonder who the mole is. How did they become the mole. How are they giving constant updates to the Wizard with no one knowing. I really like the military like aspect of the book. It seems almost legit. You could picture a real assassin team with their consultants, and the super techy stuff. Almost, this is still a story, but the characters have so much depth, that it makes them believable. Jaz has a lot of enemies this one. From Amazon Grace (a woman who works on Jaz's twin brother, David's team), the reaver's want revenge for the reaver's that she killed in prev book ([b:Another One Bites the Dust|1820174|Another One Bites the Dust (Jaz Parks, #2)|Jennifer Rardin|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1188793686s/1820174.jpg|1819754]), and she's starting to really piss the Wizard off. Not to mention Jaz manages to piss Vayl off, within reason though. Vayl finds a seer who said if he changes her to a vampire, she would take him to his sons. The current men who have the souls of Vayl's long dead sons. The thing is all of the seers he has gone too over the years know that if Vayl meets up with his sons before he is ready, this will kill all three of them. So Jaz needs to stop Vayl from turning the seer, which causes her to be jealous, since Vayl will form a bond with the seer and take her blood. Cole confesses his love to Jaz and blackmails her into a date with him. So Jaz needs to figure out who she truely cares for. Cassandra looses her sight, when she meets David and they fall instantly into love. Apparently a seer, should they fall in love, may loose their Sight since they would be able to see a world of possibilities and that can make them go crazy. Bergman decides that he wants to take risks and not be such a wimp. :P I like how this was shown at the end. Bergman and Cassandra are getting along, way better. Like two working consultants... gee like they are... On top of this Jaz makes some pretty emotional discoveries. During her trip to hell, she discovers some things that would totally damage a person. I do notice a theme here. Jaz finds out something crazy, starts talking to dead grandmother in her head... puts new side crazy on the side for now, to maybe or not, work out later. Jaz holds a lot of shit in. I don't know if that's like going to be an issues later or if it's just something that's going to fall off. Will see whenever I read the next one. :P Romantic complications a Brooding Vamp, a Troubled Past, out-of-body experiences, twin brother Dave and their issues,CIA special ops squad, whose big target is the Wizard, Albert is having another crisis, Vayl, makes her jealous and they are in Tehran, dealing with dangerous others. Jaz has a demon trying to pull her soul to hell, while everything around her is twisting in knots. Hard to take a breath while reading this book in the series. This is a great read. HTML:I'm Lucille Robinson (aka Jaz Parks). This is a mission unlike anything my vampire boss, Vayl, and I have ever been on. It's not our usual take them out and run; it's an undercover mission that needs the whole gang: a psychic, an interpreter, and a weapons specialist. We're joining a Special Ops team to nail the Wizard, a major terrorist thorn in the military's side. We've never gone in with such heavy artillery before, but the more the merrier, right? Um . . . nope. At least not since Vayl and I learned part of our job is to ferret out a mole concealed in our unit. To add to our problems, we're being harried by a pack of reavers bent on revenge, and targeted by a Seer who wants to share Vayl's power - at any cost. Oh yeah, and let's not forget the army of demonic, soul-sucking parasites either. This is going to be a blast. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
